Spring Equinox is the time to March into spring with wellness.
Here are some spring tips for renewed energy.
1. Spend some time in nature, take a daily walk outside; absorb at least 30 minutes of sunlight daily for vitamin D production and bone strength. Nature will also stimulate positive mindset and boost your immune system.
2. Focus on self-love. Take time for yourself and health benefits; focus on your physical health by making those annual doctor appointments and exams [mammogram, etc]. Focus on your mental health by scheduling “me” time or downtime from the noisy world; electronically unplug each day.
3. Social connection with others. Conversation and interaction with others stimulate the brain chemical for positive emotions, boost the immune system, and overall well-being. Stimulation of the brain with conversation also reduces the risk of early dementia.
4. Simplify and declutter your life. Physical declutter of a room, desk, or office will generate more productivity, while decluttering the mind of toxic thoughts or events stimulates growth in self-worth and love.
5. Movement of your body which is enjoyable to you. “Exercise” come in various forms; the goal is to move your body and stimulate the heart. So go for a fast paced walk, dance while during household chores, sex with your favorite partner, swim or water aerobics, bicycling. Just get the heart pumping.
6. Hydration by drinking adequate daily fluids. Hydration will stimulate blood flow, cleanse your organs, lubricate the joints, moisten the skin, and rejuvenate your energy. If you are NOT on a fluid restriction, drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water.
7. Sleep to restore the body cells and repair the daily microtears on the brain cells. The “daylight savings time” can cause you to be sluggish, affects your internal clock, and even put stress on your heart. Get daily adequate sleep [7-8 hours for adults and 10-12 hours for children] to repair the cells for your daily function, rest the brain from the world’s noise, and overall rejuvenate your spirit.
So are you going to march into spring with wellness?
